A couple of weeks ago, looking for variety after using the Aristocrat Junior for a month, I decided to use a different razor, New LC, then the Merkur HD the next day. I got similarly good shaves using all 3. Since then I've been mixing up the use of my razors and enjoying it. I have a Slim Adjustable on the way and looking forward to adding it to the mix, plus thinking of getting the Weber again, which I sold earlier. I'm thinking that in 3 months of wet shaving my technique is good enough to be able to use a different razor and get a good shave.
As for the use of soap, it's gone in the opposite direction. I've settled on 2 soaps, MdC and Cade, with an occasional use of MWF and Proraso green. I've tried about a dozen other soaps but these are my favorites. I will be trying other soaps but for in the near future. I have also started face lathering and have been enjoying it too, never thought I would when I first learned about it.
