My dovo best quality seems to have an issue along one side of the spine on the part that lays flat against the strop. Not down the entire length, but rather an area of about 1/4" near the heel. I can post pics at a later time, if it would help.
I took a closer look and can see that the transition from the edge to spine isn't as smooth in that area as it is down the rest of the length of the blade. I've had this thing for 3-5 months or so, and I've only noticed this within the last 4 weeks. The only thing I can think of that might be causing it is my use of the crox side of my philly strop.
First thing I'd like to do is figure out if this is a production flaw that I just failed to notice right away, or is it possible that it's the result of something I might be doing to the razor. In the first instance, I'll contact the vendor I bought it from to see what their policy on this might sayin terms of what their warranty is. If it's likely something I'm doing, then obviously I need to stop, but I also need to resolve the problem.
So, is this something I might be able to resolve on my own, if it comes down to that? I'm about at that point where I need to get a hone. Is there any chance that honing will smooth things over, or is it more likely to exacerbate the problem? Anything else I might try?
