Bow Steel was a trademark of Union Cutlery of Olean, N.Y. , registered sometime after 1911. The trademark seems to have gone by the wayside in 1942 but that's not definite. It's an American made razor that was re-branded by Union for Washington et al, a barber and beauty supply outlet in Spokane.
Good American steel.

Bumping too late! I bought a Bow Steel, in Spokane. The edge only needed stropping. I had suspected it was by Union Cutlery, so I was glad to see confirmation from Greybeard.

The Bow Steel is a much hollower grind than either of my two Spikes. The scales closely resemble my other Spike (not pictured). The tang/blank of the Bow Steel is very thin, perhaps better suited to more delicate fingers than mine.
