Razor Identification

I am not sure if this belongs here, but I am wondering if somebody might be able to identify this razor I have been using. Its a Gillette as you can see below. My brother had a collection of razors and other shaving items that belonged to my grandfather that he had set up as decorations. Upon taking up wetshaving I comandeered the razor and started using it.

I have had great luck with it so far, its worked better for me than the ME\erkur I had been using. I've attached some images in hopes somebody might be able to shed some light on this great little razor. My grandfather lived until the ripe age of 101, so its pretty cool that I am actually able to use something that belonged to him daily; its not just an heirloom.

It is a Gillette Tech, but more important it was your Grandads. That has to be a great feeling using that.

More than likely a 1951 or 1952 depending on what the letter and number on the bottom plate states. Nice razor, better that it was your grandfathers.

Nice razor, the Tech's although mild, give an amazing shave with a sharp blade like a feather. I have one similar but with a gold head.
Someone here on the forum told me they started using bakelite handles as brass was in short supply due to the Korean War effort, they are from 1951 - 1952.

thanks for the info. Agreed its pretty amazing that this is my grandfather's. Just goes to show you how the razor companies evolved to stay in business. This razor is 60 years old and probably as good as it was new....

looks like an S maybe on the bottom with the patent stamp. this what I am looking for?
