I just restored this razor but have not been able to figure out the Mfgr. Could the FR in the diamond be Fredrick Reynolds? And what's up with the Oriental script. I have other razors of various brands with " Chinese Razor" and other such etchings but I'm just not sure about this one.

Thank you. I love these framebacks and this one caught my eye. Wish I had it for my collection.
Beautiful job indeed you did on the restoration.
I believe the kanji says "High" <FR> "Ground" if that helps...
I would plump for a japanese maker too. FR might signify - Frameback Razor!

I recall seeing the same stamps on a razor listed on eBay as Korean, but that doesn't mean much. I'd say Japanese is probably right. The two Kanji there together (ignoring the FR) would mean Noble man or Gentleman.
Definitely Japanese.
