Razor Aggressiveness Chart

I have 3 DE razors:

- 1957 Super Speed Flair
- Merkur 46C 4 piece travel razor
- 38 HD Classic Barber Pole

From my personal experience, they rank in aggressiveness from the very mild Super Speed to the more moderately aggressive 38 HD Classic. The 46C is somewhere in the middle.

I find the Super Speed OK, but it gives a rather lackluster shave. The 38 HD Classic gives a BBS almost every time, but it can bite on occassion - admitedly less and less with experience. The 46C is very comfortable and gives a BBS most of the time. I would like to find another non-travel razor that has the same shave feel as the 46C for variety at home. It could have a knurled handle, but I am looking for the same shave feel. Does anybody know of an aggressiveness chart for DE razors? I appreciate any input.

This is just a chart of blade gaps...remember blade gaps are not the end when it comes to aggressive.

I choose the Gillette SS.

The SS has a huge following. Of the three razors I have, it is my least preferred. The only reason I keep it around is it is a near mint birth year/quater razor. I am also hoping it may be a good razor to start my son on DE shaving, but he has shown no interest in DE and little in shaving in general. I think he likes the beard (such as it is) because it is new. Time may change him and if not, I hope the beard fills in.
