Raspberry Pi

Anyone got one of these yet?

I'm getting one from Santa, I'm pretty sure I've been good or at least not been caught. The specs aren't awe inspiring but I've been using an old powermac and beat up laptop to play around with linux distro's and this little thing excites me. A £30 pocket sized computer which can run off sd cards and people are actually developing stuff for. Hoping at best I can get some game emulators running on the living room telly, streaming video that my xbox doesn't like and my digital music collection back through the living room stereo - if the hdmi can actually output and hdmi movie to the telly I will be impressed. At worst I'll spend hours tinkering with stuff that doesn't quite work right and hopefully learn something in the process.

Hoping it might spark my daughters interest in how computers work or at least make her aware that they're not just flat shiny things that play youtube but I'm not holding out hope on that front.

Anyone got one, getting one or have the faintest interest in it? I've seen some cool uses from media centres, cctv, baby monitors, arcade machines, people sticking them inside amps, to weather stations. I'm still trying to come up with a shaving related use.......

If you've not heard of it:

Resurrecting an old thread instead of duplicating.

Am thinking about getting a Pi and creating a media player, and also perhaps a second one for a BBQ temperature controller (Stoker clone)

Anyone else running Pi?

Still happily using my pi for streaming movies/music from my computer in the attic to the living room. I had a set up with Arch Linux I was pretty happy with but my sd card died recently, until I've got time to get it up and running with Arch again I'm using the openelec version of xbmc which does the job.

Thanks

Am looking forward to getting my Pi!

Any difference between OpenELEC/Raspbmc/XBian?

I've only used raspbmc & openelec - didn't find much difference aside from openelec being a much smaller image.
