Rarely seen Gillette 4 piece Tech pre-war triangular base plate

I'm sure most of you have seen Gillette Tech razor's. Typically the metal versions came in 3 piece types.
Here is a 4 piece that was only made in either Canada or England (handle knurling being different).
The 4 piece made for a compact travel razor with the handle being 2 pieces and threading into each other for locking short and for extending full size use.

I live in Canada. At what we call a "flea" market. Bargained at $25cda. It's in great condition. That's a reflection on the top plate with only mildest of scratches.

The rhodium plated in England, brass in USA.

No as those labeled travel tech are from the 60's and came with a one piece mini sized ball end handle.

Yep, that the Canadian version, most likely came from this set:

The English versions have a different knurling as shown earlier in the thread.

What beautiful razors! I have recently started using a DE safety razor after many years of using a cartridge razor and the culture and elegance of lathering up with a brush and using an "old fashioned razor" is just so.....soothing would be the best word. I think I'm going to have a razor acquisition problem very soon. I guess there are worst vices.
