Ranking: The top 5 best shaving safety razors.

I own over 20 razors including a couple of SE razors.
My Merkur 34C is what I use most often. I've had it for over a decade and I love it. Here's my top 5. These work very well with all my favourite blades and they give me an awesome shave every time.

1. Merkur Progress
2. Merkur 34C
3. Rockwell 6C
4. Leaf Twig SE
5. Edwin Jagger DE89

More Deep Thoughts than Jack Handy
In my collection I would rank them like this:
  1. Timeless SS .68 w/scalloped head & base
  2. Charcoal Goods SS LvL 2 (Took me a while...almost ranked this #1.)
  3. Parker Semi-Slant
  4. EJ Chatsworth
  5. RazoRock Mamba 70
All are straight bar. But on any given day, any one of these can really shine and provide a great shave.

Wow! How some things just change.

I PIF'ed that CG to the Breast Cancer event. All the other razors, with the exception of the Timeless, were also PIF'ed to other B&B members. They're all too mild for me now. My current list looks like this:

1) Wolfman WR1 SS SB .74
2) Wolfman WR2 SS SB 1.15
3) RR Lupo SS OC .95
4) RR Lupo SS SB .72
5) DSCosmetic Z0 (This is a strange fascination, as I think this razor borders on being...risky.)

Talk about a big change!

My "go-to 5" are, in no particular order:
Edwin Jagger 3One6
Merkur Progress
Merkur 34C
Rockwell 6S
Timeless Aluminium

Whenever I yield to temptation with a new razor it never seems to perform as well as anything on the above list. The same applies to soaps and brushes so I guess my RAD/SAD/BAD days are over :)
