What's new

Rad: You know its bad when.

I was digging through my desk drawer today and found, not one, but three razors that I had forgotten about
Pretty sure I must of put them in there "to clean up later"
I think I remember getting the Slim at an antique store several months ago, but Im not sure where the Schick and Tech came from...

Spent some time and cleaned them up, the K-4 Slim cleaned up nicely as did the Canadian Tech.
The E model Schick Injector has some plating loss but is a useable razor.

Wonder if I have any other razor stashes hiding somewhere? :001_smile

How exactly did you clean them? I've soaked em for a little bit in hot water and dish soap, then a little in scrubbing bubbles, polish with MAAS and they still don't look that good when I'm done with em. Yours look fantastic.

I keep coming back to this thread with ridiculous amounts of envy at how clean you got those razors.

I could see where Eversharp Schick Injectors and Fat Handle Techs could easily be acquired without any memory while on "antique store benders". :a17:

Sorry for the delay getting back to you.
I pretty well do the same as you.
I soak them in hot water/dish soap, give them a couple of sprays with scrubbing bubbles and then back into the hot water.
I then scrub the heck out of them with a stiff nylon brush that has been loaded up with hand soap (whatever is by the sink)
By this time all of the soap scum is gone, if there is still corrosion present, I may use a soft brass brush to remove the hard to remove stuff (green corrosion blade rust etc) I would only use a brass brush on a nickel plated razor or a brass razor with little to no plating left. Do NOT use a brass brush on a nice gold or silver plated razor (although corrosion is rarely a problem if the plating is still there)
After it has been scrubbed I use a polish like MAAS, Flitz or Peek (they all work about the same) and a microfiber cloth.

I think I remember where I got these two...at a local antique store, they were part of a small package that also had a sad looking Sheraton that I wanted.
The Sheraton got cleaned immediately, but these two were set aside for "later"
Here is the before and after pics of the Sheraton
