Hello guys, a month ago i tried to start on wet shaving, unfortunately i had just the classic canned goo, vintage gillette slim and a few brazilian blades (gillette super thin mejorada)that i found. the result was a bad experience and i was pretty disapointed, but im hard to beat and thought that maybe having some quality blades, shaving brush and shaving soap could be better, so i decided to purchase a new kit, so i did a research on a goodplace to buy my stuff, being there i couldn't resist the temptation of getting a Mühle R89 razor, so i orderd the razor itself, a sample pack of blades, and this Mitchell's wool fat shaving soap.
The pack contains 7 brands of blades wich are, Derby, Crystal, red Personna,Gillette 7 o'clock sharp edge(the yellow ones), Iridium super, and Feather.
The first day i used the R89 with a derby blade, and i was a amazed on how great finished that razor is, is absolutely flawless, perfect chrome plate, perfect weight and balance, shines like a sun.I was a little concerden because in my pack i've got the vertical derbys and i read some bad reviews of that ones, but being a newbie i had to have my own opinion. So the shave, well i nicked my self a couple times, because wow shaving with a de is so different than mach3 or that stuff, and this blades are sharp, but at the end i got hooked, never had such a close shave before in my life, and my skin felt great, no irritation, well a couple nicks as i said, but in spite of that everything was great, the MWF did its job, i never going to back to the goo, and it was so fun to do, preparing, lathering, shaving, i was touching my face the whole day.
At the shave number 4 i thought "hey why don't try the same blade with the gillette slim...****..amazed again, the slim is so mild, so soft, so forgiving, but gives almost the same close shave, now i love her again by the wat that slim razor was a gift from my grandpa, its value for me is ...well you know, my grandfather used that razor in his youth, i mean is a peace of his history and now in my posession, a current production razor can't beat that, even the mighty R89..
Im pretty excited because i have other brands to try, and i think my next blade is Crystal(israeli personnas i think)..so now i know why are you in love with this hobbie, this art, this world of wet shaving, there are so much feelins involved..
Im glad to found B&B this place rocks, and wet shaving too, but now im thinking of get a new razor and a silver tip brush, im scared how can i stop this buying sickness?hahaha
