I purchased a R41 top cap and bottom plate from a recognized vendor. I put the head on a Tradere handle and love it. However after shaving today while cleaning up I noticed a number 2 under the top cap. Does this have any relevance? Does that mean it's a second? It's won't have any affect on anything as this is now my daily driver. Just curious.

No ... that is probably just the # of the mold used, for quality control purposes.

Mine also has a '2'. I always figured it was to not get it confused with the r89 top cap.
Mine must be fake, doesn't have a number.
I wouldn't worry about it. I think I've seen some variation on the numbers on these caps, if I recall correctly.
The "2" means it's designed for steep angle comb engaged shaving. If it doesn't have a "2" it's designed for comb engaged steep angle shaving. 
I have both the 2011 and the 2013 r41. The 2013 has the number 2 on the under side of the top, the 2011 does not.

I thought the 2 meant only 2 passes required for BBS while shaving steep angle with the comb engaged

backside of the top cap
just checked my new R41 and sure enough there's a number 2 on the back of the top cap between the center post and one of the outer posts....I'm pretty sure it means that the R41 is "twice" the razor than any of the others in my stable!
