My go to razor is a Muhle R41 Open Comb pared with a Feather. The head on it looks almost identical to the head on my travel razor which is a Mekur Open Comb Travel Razor pared with a Feather, but...
...the Muhle seems to shave smoother/better whatever. It doesn't matter if I have them tightened all the way or my usual 1/8 turn back.
Upon inspection, while the heads look identical, the Mekur Head is marked with the numeral 1 while the Muhle has the number 2 on it. Are they different heads?
If not, can the real or perceived difference in shaves all be attributed to the balance/weight/length of the razor? I haven't yet tried swapping heads to see if the smooth save follows the head or the handle although I may if no one knows the definitive answer.
