R code Gillettes...

Hey All!

I wanted to get a "birthday razor" for myself, and I have a few questions.
All I have seen are adjustables with black handles. While the adjustable part doesn't bother me so much, the black handle is something I'd rather avoid. Were they all this way?

They were all black, discounting some possibly unauthentic fully gold plated ones that are floating around.
If you dislike the black, it is very easy to remove. Just boil it in oxy-clean and it comes right off.

Some of the first quarter 1971 "R" codes were produced as "Q" codes. The "Q" was eventually dropped because it was visually too close to the "O" code.

Yes, I'm not a fan of the black handles either but it is what it is...sorry but you are pretty much out of luck. I have two of the black adjustables and rarely use them. Maybe buying a nice 1971 Corvette would suffice???

Lady Gillette's were being made in 1971.
