Quill & Nib

$IMAG0111.jpg Here is one of the pics my wife took at a local shop called Quill & Nib. No dip pens but I did manage to walk away with a FP. The little rack on the right of the pic contains pens the owner makes and sells. I bought the one on the bottom of the rack. Its a nice store and a bit overwhelming for a noob like me but I talked with the owner for quite sometime and he said if I have any problems with the pen or just want it flushed and cleaned up to bring it in. He also had several other than his artisan pens. Prices started around $75 and went up to over $1000.

Another pic. I have several so if you guys want I can post more. Nice ink well here. $IMAG0108.jpg

Wow Deano, thanks for posting the photos. Brick and mortar pen stores have wonderful eye candy.

Your welcome. Im seeing some for the first time myself. The wife was taking pics and I was talking with the guy.

Yeah I think after i visited that store id be politely asked not to return to the place, they only let you bounce off so many walls in excitement before getting upset with you

great pics Deano

Just don't use that calligraphy ink in your fountain pen.

I didnt buy any ink there. All I have so far is Private Reserve. I like the Velvet Black but the Lake Placid blue is too light blue for me. Any recomendations for a dark blue? Maybe Navy blue or something?

Pelikan Royal Blue is very nice. You may also want to look at the various blue-blacks, which have become my favorite.

Mainly because it is sitting next to the Higgins', which is India ink and WILL Ruin your fountain pen. It may be OK, but didn't want to chance it. It should say on the box that it's for fountain pens. If not, I'd not chance it.
