Questions concerning R89 and D89 heads.

Supposedly Muhle’s R89 and Edwin Jagger’s D89 shave heads are the same so let me ask a couple of questions:

1. Was this head developed jointly between the two companies or is one using it under license from the other?

2. When did this head come out? I ask this because I had an Edwin Jagger from the early 2000s that I could never get a good shave from, but I just ordered a new D89 that shaves just fine.

Co-designed but manufactured at different locations. They do their own quality control.

I think it was 2009 for the new head design.

I think in 2009 Muhle was still marketing an R89 made for them by Fatip.

Thats interesting, as I had always heard that they co-designed the DE89 but that all the heads were made by Muhle in Germany.
