Question on all metal Schick injectables model F and model L5

I just acquired 2 Schick injectables model E and an adjustable. I am wondering which of the all metal Schick injectables either an F or L5 (Paul Revere) is a better shaver in terms of weight and aggressiveness? Does anyone know where I might find either of these models besides on Bombay

I have an F, a G, and E, a I2, and an adjustable. I find the F to be pretty light, even though it's all metal. It is finely crafted, though...

My question is am I the only one that can't get a good shave out of an F? Maybe there's something wrong with my F because it doesn't give me a close shave.

The F is not a very aggressive razor, so your results are not surprising. As usual, it's YMMV, so others might find it to be acceptable. One thing you might try is pressing in harder with it--that worked for me.

After many years, I have given up multi-blade cartridge razors, mainly because when I let my beard grow for a week or so (now retired), the razor clogs quickly and has to be rinsed after every stroke. I was a big Schick fan in the 60's and 70's, and found a really nice 75 year old E-2 cased set on eBay for $5.00, which shaves like a razor ought to. If you're looking for a source of blades, Google Williamsport Barber Supply (been in business for 73 years). They have 20-blade Personna injectors for $5.00 each. If you order 6, it works out to about 35 cents per blade, including shipping.

These blades are also used as disposable blades in some straight razors used by barbers more and more, so I suspect the supply won't dry up soon.

I think the F is pretty decent. It is relatively light weight. Mine shaves very well, and I would say more efficiently than an M or L. I've had trouble with the G due to loose springs so I gave up on them.

The thing about the type F is that it takes on water spots and film easily. Mine is still 90% gold plated on the top and I worry about over cleaning it. I haven't used it in a long while though.

I have a Paul Revere version and it's much heavier and larger. It's NOS so I haven't tried it yet. To me it looks to have the type of head from the later models that had black handles.
