Question for face latherers

When you shave, do you leave the brush on the counter top resting on the handle (lather in the air) or you put it in a container / cup?

I rest it on the handle and it seems the lather migrate towards the knot so it's hard to get it out for a third pass.

I think I'll try to put it in a cup to see if it makes a difference.

I rest mine on it's handle bottom. Generally don't have an issue with enough product for the entire shave and if I do it's either the load or a crappy soap I tried that will fail no matter how I put the brush. I guess it can't hurt to put it in a cup gently.

I am mostly a face latherer but my soaps are all in mugs, tubs, or bowls. So, I just rest the brush in or on the container. If I'm using Cella from the tub, I place the brush on the lid. When I am lathering a cream, I place the brush on its side on the counter top with the knot and lather hanging over the sink bowl.

The placement shouldn't affect how much lather is left so maybe try loading a little longer.

I leave my brush in the mug between passes and re-lather before each pass.

A face lather 'n' shower shaver here. I place my brush bristle up on a the chrome shelf in the shower.

On the road, it sits on its base sink side. Makes for cool 2nd and 3rd passes though. At home, I use a scuttle. Sound like a brush scuttle or similar would be perfect for you.

bristles up.
I'm with the guys that say it shouldn't matter.
If you don't have enough for a 3rd pass, load more product.

I LOVE that mug you got Count, Sears and Roebuck...reminds me of my dad...he's pass on since around this time last year. Any hints of where to get one of those gents? Sorry off topic!

I have a make-shift scuttle with a bowl and a cup. Set the brush, bristle down, in the cup between passes to help keep the lather warm.

I also set mine on the handle, I have never noticed lather running down into the brush and there is always enough product for a 3 pass shave, you just have to load enough product to start with.
