Question about BBS shave

If you have a BBS shave when you purse your lips together and rub your finger around the area below your lower lip (but above the round part of the chin), is that meant to still be smooth?

Because I can shave so that area is BBS when it's not pursed, but when it is pursed it's not, even though I purse my lips while shaving that area.

Thanks and sorry if the quesiton is a bit weird!

That's a really tough area. Sometimes, if I stick my tongue between my teeth and lips, I can feel stubble in an otherwise BBS shave. Regardless, it is the first area that I can feel stubble as the day progresses.

Your post perturbs me. So you're saying that you can shave that area of your lips and it is BBS, but only when you lips are not pursed. If they are pursed then it's not a BBS shave? But while you shave your lips you purse them, but it doesn't seem to help because it's only a BBS shave if your lips are not pursed.

Seems like it's possible you have a pursed problem proliferating profusely pertaining to your lips. Perhaps your prep should include some prophylactic procedures. Possible but not probable, is your promotion of pursing. It's probably problematic, potentially preventing you from pursuing a plain old BBS. Preventative protective precautions will probably help. I hope that you peruse the posts and predicate a preliminary procedure to help your predicament.

Probably preemptive of me to print a prologue prior to proceeding, so please explain your possible path and I'll try to provide professional, preeminent and precise pointers.

LOL at your response, though it was a serious question! :001_tt2:

The real answer is- "who cares?" Honestly, it is!
Is your shave close, comfortable and making you happy? Then it's a good shave, and nothing else matters.

+many. Did I bleed? Am I scruffy? Am I uncomfortable afterwards? If the answer to these questions is all "no" then I'm in fine flavour! If SWMBO cared, I would be more concerned about the unicorn that is BBS. Since she is more ambivalent, the shave is for my personal benefit more than anything else.

I see a LOT of guys say that they have gotten a "good shave" or "BBS" but they either have razorburn or ended up with blood on the blade. IMNSHO, if either of those occur, it wasn't a "good" shave!:thumbdown KWIM?

Ok, seriously now, what you speak of seems very, very, picky even for this board. I had to read it a few times just to understand it correctly. But if it bothers you enough to ask, then it must be an issue for you.

Maybe the hair under your lower lip just grows a bit faster? Have you tried to shave it wtg, ctg and atg? Or maybe do an extra pass or two just in that spot.

By the way, anytime you stiffen or tighten your facial muscles and your skin, your beard will obviously feel stiffer. It doesn't mean your hairs are stiffer or that you have more hair, it just feels like it.
