Question about a 'Rechargable Shaving Soap Bowl'

I am seeing only one of these listed anywhere on the 'Net - the one that comes with Tabac shaving soap.

For some very odd reason, the Amazon.com pages that list the item for sale don't describe the 'rechargeable' part AT ALL, nor does any reviewer delve into any description of the bowl... they only review the soap itself.

Are there other electric or rechargeable shaving bowls? I'm going to have to assume they make the lather hot??

Or I could be way off-base here, and it really means that the soap, itself, is the 'rechargeable' part - being able to replace it when it depletes.

The bowl Tabac is packed in, is nothing beyond a very nice very heavy walled white ceramic/ porcelain bowl. If they are using the word "rechargeable", they really should be using the word "refillable" instead. Tabac sells just the soap, without the nice bowl for quite a bit less money.

Cheapest place I have found it, is http://www.fragrancex.com/

$13.99 with the bowl.
$10.99 for just the soap puck.

When the soap is gone you plug the rechargeable bowl in overnight. 12 hours later a new soap will be waiting for you.

That's probably either a bad translation or a description written by a non-native English speaker. In many European languages, "rechargeable" means "reloadable" or "refillable", I'm guessing they mean new pucks can be put into an empty bowl.

Now there's the Tabac I want!!! :lol::w00t::lol:

What about our much anticipated QED soaps.... Will they work that way as well???

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure that only works with tallow soaps. Something about the fat content or something like that.

I understand that they are soon going to be reforumulating the electricity ...

That is what it means -- you keep the bowl and replace the soap with a refill. No heat or electricity involved.

Don't let these guys bother you . . . .

Dear Sirs,

We are eagerly awaiting a formal review of this 'rechargeable' soap dish in the 'Reviews' section, and hope they are considering a plug-into-the-wall version soon.

Yours, etc.
