Queen Charlotte Soap?

I have one of their scents in my rotation of soaps.

I enjoy the scent and the performance of the soap so it gets a thumbs up from me :thumbup1:

+1; I just used the QCS Mysore Sandalwood, and it gave me a supremely smooth, close, and comfortable shave!

I have the QCS Green Irish Tweed type soap and I would say that it is tied for my favorite soap and probably would be my favorite if the scent were just a little stronger.

QCS is one of my favorites. I have the Lime and Queen Charlotte. Excellent scent and performance. Of soaps I have more than one label are Mike's, QCS and DRH.

I've tried all the popular artisan soaps: Mystic Water, Mike's Natural Soaps, Razorock Soaps, but I keep coming back to QCS. I don't know how to describe it exactly, but the lather feels exceptional on the skin.

I like it so much that this is the first of the artisan products that I've ordered a second time. I ordered the QCS scent recently, and I'm really looking forward to using it.

QCS soap is excellent. I prefer it to the cream, though I like the cream a lot too. I have soap versions of, I think, all of the scents. Queen Charlotte, Hanami, and Basilica are my favorites.

I only see Mysore Sandalwood listed under creams. Am I missing the soap?

I don't think so. I asked Matt about making this scent as a soap. His reply was that the soapmaking process eats too much of the scent. Given the expense of real sandalwood EO, that's why he offers this scent as a cream.

Besides, his "creams" are really more soft soaps. I lather his cream exactly as I would if it were a soap.

Is there a difference in the chill factor of the cream and soap versions of Vostok?

I think the cream is a little colder, the scents come through a little stronger with the creams too. That may actually be giving me the impression of a "colder" experience with it.
I love the creams and the soaps, right now I only have two of the creams but once one of those are used I may try a soap again.

Got it! Saw the cream, but didn't see a soap.

For me, the soap is easier to lather, though I know many gents prefer the cream in this regard.

The Provence soap was my favorite shaving product; sadly, lanolin and I don't get along, and this fragrance appears to no longer be available, so it's just a memory now. Still, I can vouch for the scents of lavender, Vostok, and Celestial Woods as being very worthy.

I just got some of the Vostok soap and I'm having problems getting it to lather. This is my first soap so its most likely my technique. Anyone have any suggestions that seem to give good results with this soap? I really love the smell of this stuff!!

To make QCS easier to lather put some warm water on top of the puck or press the sample into a container and fill with warm water for about a minute. Lightly shake the excess moisture out of your brush and load until the tips of the brush are saturated with a thick pasty soap (takes me about a minute with moderately hard water using a brush with firm backbone). If bowl lathering add a small amount (1/2 teaspoon to start) of water and begin building your lather adding a half dozen drops every fifteen seconds until you reach your preferred consistency making sure to fully work the water into the lather between additions. For face lathering I immediately dip the tips of the brush in water (just the tips to add a bit of moisture) and begin working the soap onto my face. After it is spread around pretty well I start dipping the tips of the brush in water again and working it onto my face, continue this process until you can see a nice sheen on the lather and you feel the resistance between the brush tips and your face getting really slick.

I've had the same problem with those tallow style soft soaps. Since all of mine are in bowls filled pretty much to the top I just started scooping it out. Then I drop the spoon in my lather cup with the hot water while I'm soaking my brush. Then I just dump the water, shake the brush and brush the soap off the spoon. Lathers up in no time flat.

I haven't used a lot of soaps. But so far QCS/cream are my favorite. I get excellent lather/cusion/slickness. My skin also feels the best after shaving with QCS products too.
