Put a Lid On It? -Soap

So I have a few creams, but only one soap. I have Ogallala Bay Rum in an old spice mug, which you know, has no lid. I have been wanting to purchase a soap or two in a nice wood bowl. But then I read from some people, that after about a year of use, they wood bowls can look pretty tattered from water damage. This week I was at macy's and they had a huge exhibit for fiestaware dinner ware. They had these really nice, super hefty ramikins that come in all sorts of amazing colors. i think they would make a perfect shave bowl. But, there is no lid. I guess my question is Does the scent of a soap really leave if there is no lid? I would like to buy some really nice soap container then just buy refills, but most things I have found have no lid.

I think that over time you would lose more of the scent if you don't, as they say, put a lid on it.

I like the containers that Sue at www.mamabearsoaps.com sells. They are really nice and only cost 2 bucks.

I have heard, that an upside down lid off of an 18oz peanut butter jar works quite well for an Old Spice Mug lid.

Do you own a Mama Bear Soap? If so open the lid and look inside the lid. There should be a small round piece of white plastic. Pop it out and it fits perfectly on the old spice mug. Thats what I did.

i always put a lid on it - just to stop dust etc getting on the soap
