Puerto Rican coffee

Ive been spending this winter break in Puerto Rico, and have been enjoying the local coffee in the local tradition of cafe con leche. I think my favorite so far is Yaucono coffee. Just thought I would share. If I had a camera, I'd show the view from the porch where I am enjoying said coffee.

Hi am glad you enjoy the coffe of Puerto Rico , coffee was the mayor business in PR in the 1900 to 1940 .
Yaucono coffee is the mayor coffee company of Puerto Rico , unfortunate is not so good . The best coffee of Puerto Rico is Alto Grande coffee they pick only the red coffee beans , was the favorite coffee of he Pope . Alto Grande is no so expensive coffee you can enjoy it for $10 per pound .
There is others companies like Coffee Mi Finca is a regional coffee sale only in the center of the Island ( Jayuya town) forr me is the best fo he price , flavor and aroma . Below is the web site of alto grande coffee and yaucono coffee .
Take care I know you rnjoy in PR

Glad to find another Yaucono lover here.

Ramon, I will remember Alto Grande and try it one day.

While we're talking about Puerto Rican coffee, how do you guys make it? I've been using a stovetop Moka pot, that's what my abuela used to do.

For long time I use the a cotton colander , two spoon of coffee per regular cup
let boil in the water and enjoy. Right now am using the coffee maker less work .
Here in Miami Florida you find puertorrican coffee but is not real puertorrican coffee is only the package with the flag very pathetic and package in the US.
Hey guys if you going to Puerto Rico let me know , I tell you where are nice places to go .

I have had some fresh roasted puerto rican coffee once that was given to me by a friend. (he works as a musician in the Barnum & Baley and Ringling Bros. circus)

His circus group had a show to do in PR, and he visited a coffee farm while he was there.

It reminded me of Kona in some ways. It's on my bucket list to source and sell freshly roasted PR coffee... when the time is right (for me).
