Puerh Throwing Knife

Well once again I was looking for a great puerh knife as I found mine to dull for some of my cakes. I was looking all over the net and nothing much caught my eye as good. You see I am one who breaks off chunks for every pot. Long story short I was cleaning up and found an old cheap throwing knife Ive had since I was 16. I was so happy to see it and in an instant thought of man that would be a perfect knife for puerh nice and pointy yet the sides are not sharp. It was dirty and had some rust spots so I took it to my buffer and polished them clear. I just wanted to share it with you guys. It works nothing short of amazing. :thumbup1: cake is 07 Xiaguan "FT" #4

Holy cow! Weapon of mass destruction... but I like it!

Tuo's and iron cakes will be the death of me.

For tuos I would recommend a pick of some sort vice a knife. Does not have to be anything fancy; an ice pick will do very nicely. For iron cakes, you just need to be very careful. I personally find that I need a bit more of a knife for the iron cakes and typically use an old chicago cutlery paring knife for working on an iron cake.

I use a Kershaw Silver Spur II for tuochas, bricks and cakes. It's blade is narrow and it has a sharp edge and a blunt false edge.

Be careful with sharp objects and tuochas or you my be singing that sad song - 'Blood on the Tuocha.

Im glad I found this throwing knife it works very well and has dull sides with a nice point. I bet that kershaw is nice :thumbup1:

It's rather nice to recycle old objects into useful teaware! I have reused an old trivet, which I now use to rest my tetsubin on when it's off the heat. There is also a pretty flowerpot (a wide one) that I use for my chaxi (waste water bowl)!
