Proraso pre-shave does not move off the shelves at the rate the soap and cream do and may be quite old when it reaches the consumer.
Years ago, when I was still experimenting with pre-shaves and Proraso (I no longer use either), I once received a Proraso pre-shave that had a thinner consistency than the previous ones and gave me a rash.
It is conceivable that yours may have evaporated during extended storage.

When you're finished with Amazon, contact the manufacturer to let them know a retailer is messing with their product. It may also have been a customer return & someone [lazy] just put it back into inventory without checking to see if it was used.
