Proraso Liquid Balm gone stale?

I always keep it closed... I have not used it for a few weeks and when I came back to my 3/4 full bottle of Proraso liquid ASB it smelled "different." It wasn't the coconutty delicious smell I had enjoyed before. Now it smelled somewhat "stale" or unfresh. It is not a nasty smell and it seemed to work just the same as before, but what is going on here?

Anyone else can report something similar?

I bought it from BST, but it was ~90% full. I do not know how long the previous owner had it for.

did you shake it up prior to smelling it? the contents may have separated and settled into layers, and all that you smell is the top-most one.

I've had tubes of Tabac cream that separated after sitting for a while ... when I take off the cap, I can see an off-white cream and a golden oil, but when I squeeze them out of the tube and mix it up with a brush, it smells and works just fine.

stir up the contents of the Proraso ASB and try it again.
