Proraso Green

What are everyone's thoughts on the new formula of the Proraso Green, specifically the soap, but also the cream? Ive had decent results but wonder what others thoughts are?

My opinion is that the new Proraso Green is a very solid product from a respectable and trusted brand. Certainly less "menthol kick" compared to the old formula (a real pity here), but better overall performance with stable, slicker lather.

It's fantastic! I found the menthol content in the soap pretty intense, but that's me. Most people find it to be less than the original formula.

Agree with Marco. Solid. I'd like more menthol, but for me that's always the case with everything.

I hope they're not reading this over there at Proraso House, but I think it's perhaps the most absurd value for the price of anything I've tried that's talked about regularly here. It's like my little Honda Civic 5-speed. It won't impress others, but it's cheap to run, actually fun to drive with a stick, and that engine will go forever. And it's paid for. : )

The soap and cream are just as easy to lather as the old formula. The new formula is slicker, and it contains more skin friendly ingredients.
While the new formula does contain less menthol, I've found this to make the new stuff more palatable in the colder months.
The scent has also changed somewhat. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is up to you.

The new formula is better for your skin but lacks the menthol kick of the old formula. I'm not a fan of the new formula, YMMV.

+1, and the smell is almost the exact same, but i think since its less mentholed it smells a bit "softer".

I was all set to order a jar of the new formula, when my wife's aunt, visiting from Greece, brought me FIVE jars of the original (to go along with the three jars she brought me last year). Being that the new formula seems to have less menthol--and I'm all about the menthol-- I'm just going to hold off for now.

The performance of the new version is excellent, however I preferred the scent and menthol content of the old one. The new version smells musty.

Pushing this back up as I opened a tub of the new formula yesterday and it's fantastic. On par for the lather compared to the old formula if not easier. The scent is great and the menthol kick is nice. I might put a drop of peppermint oil to see if I can easily increase the menthol kick next time.

The new formula has menthol in it - where??? Not for me. Long live Vostok.

According to the current formula it has menthol and when I used it I could feel the menthol cooling effect

Aqua (Water/eau), Stearic Acid, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium Hydroxide, Glycerin, Lactic Acid, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Menthol, Camphor, Eucalyptol, Eucalyptus globulus Leaf Oil, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-di-t-butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate, Geraniol, Fragrance (Parfum)

It is nice, but I prefer the old-formula and so I enjoy using C.O. Bigelow as I have been told it is the old-formula (though it is a cream).

Bigelow being sold right now is the new formula. I suppose there could be some NOS old-formula still out there, though.

Are you sure? There is a difference in performance, scent, and consistency between my tube of Bigelow and my new formula Proraso.

Well, now that you mention it, no, I'm not sure. I do know that my recently purchased Bigelow's ingredients list no longer shows any parabens, so it is a new formula of some sort or another. I've never used actual Proraso, so I don't know if it has the same ingredients as Bigelow.
