Proraso.first try. dissappointing?

Hmmm got my Proraso in the green tub yesteday.. I was so looking forward to the big cool sensation of the menthol this AM, but I found that I did not notice one at all. Not sure if it will be different as I use it more (cause the lather was great and the shave was excellent) but I expected more. Thinking that i might try some Yeti Snot, Looking for a good cool, hit.

OH well, guess I built up my expectations too much reading the reviews. Still a great soap.

I get mild cool from Proraso, it doesn't have that much menthol. It's much more cooling when used in combination with the pre-post cream, which has a lot more menthol. Proraso AS splash has pretty decent cooling as well.

Queen Charlotte Vostok has an large amount of menthol in it, and its also a decent tallow soap.

Hi, Michael.
The Proraso green is one of my favorite soaps. Love it. The cool for me is not intense, but I do find that it builds with each pass. The green tub followed by Proraso Splash or Osage Rub are just killer combos for my shave buck.

I really want to try the QCS Vostok. Are you looking for the big "face freeze?" Just the name tempts me to start that quest.

QCS Vostok is highly addictive stuff! It's in a completely different ball park to Proraso in terms of a sustained menthol hit & over all performance.
I still feel the chill for at least an hour after a 3 pass shave with Vostok.
