Proraso - cream or soap

I'm going to buy my first Proraso product in the next few days. I'll stick to the original. Should I go with the cream out of the tube or soap in the tub?

Can't go wrong with either of them - I have both and they work equally well - just buy what you prefer or get them both.

+1

Go with your preference if you like creams or soaps, Proraso is great!

Go with cream and make sure you get some of the Non-alcohol after shave. It's great!

I personally like the soap, but just because I like rubbing my brush in the tub rather than squeezing some cream out (just a better shaving experience for me for whatever reason).

i love the soap, never tried the cream.

proraso soap will very likely be my only soap after having tried so many others. the price/performance/feel and skin conditioning can't be beat! Pretty much goes for the rest of their range too!

long live proraso!

Thanks for the replies

Since I'm still new to this, how long would you say does a tube of cream or tub of soaplast if used every day? I used my C&E soap six days a week since Christmas when I got it as a gift until the end of June and I probably have about 20% left. Would Proraso get a similar long life?

It's a softer soap, so it'll last as long as you let it. (i.e. digging down deep into the tub with your brush vs. just getting the tips covered)

I've had a tube of Proraso that I use atleast 3 times a week for almost 3 months now. I've still got close to a half a tube left. I'd say with daily use and used appropriately, you could expect between 100-120 shaves with it.

I shave every day and I would say that it lasted me around 3 months (150ml or 150gr), so that would be around 100-120 shaves, yup!

I just tried my new tub of the soap today. I think i like it better of course I am comparing it to the Bigelow branded proraso cream which I like and have gotten my coworkers to use thanks to BBW 2 for 1 sale.

I love the soap! And like the other gents here are saying, it alot like a cream. I have not tried the cream, but can't immagine it being much better. it is one of my favorite soaps. I just get great shaves with it. I dig my brush way into it, and get my brush good and loaded up. I then bowl lather with, something I generally don't do with soaps. This leaves me with a rich creamy, lather.

Top it off with some Aqua Velva, and you will freeze your face. if you want to look a llittle harder, get some osage rub. This morning I used Proarso, aqua velva, and osage rub. Talk about menthol.

I use both and sometimes even make superlather with both of them for extra protection when I'm unsure of a new blade/razor combo.

I would say the only real performance difference I have noticed is that the tube (cream) is more moisturizing than the tub (soap).

I use the cream because I like creams better. Like everyone else is saying, you can't go wrong either way.
