Props to the superior shave

Just got my first straight razor today, been a DE shaver for about a year. I wanted to give a little recognition to the guy behind thesuperiorshave.com for the great service and super sharp blade (dovo encina). I bought from his site because it was recommended here for actual shave ready blades and when I got it today I did a couple little tests and then had a shave with it. The hair tests went good and so did the shaving. I only managed to nick myself twice, but my face is truly smooth. Now I just need to keep shaving to get my technique down a little better.

Top operator I bought a whole bunch of coticlues off him about 8 in total over the period of 6 months. In one of his packages he forgot to include one slurry stone I think for the tune of $8 when I emailed him to let him know that everything arrived safe in its amazing packaging (if you haven't seen Jarrods packaging you don't know amazing) and I also let him know that he forgot a slurry stone but not to worry about it as I have 3 others and some bouts that I can use. He emailed me back almost instantly saying how sorry he was and that he is happy to send it out or refund the money. I replied telling him that it's fine and not to worry about it. The next day I get a paypal notification informing me the he has refunded me the money. I left it at that; a week later I receive a package of just a slurry stone. I emailed me thanking him for the refund and the stone and he replied stating the he was more than happy even though postage for just a slurry stone to Australia was more than just a slurry stone.

What I'm trying to say is that he is the best of the best!

That's something else I forgot to mention, the packaging was the best I've seen yet. Before I even opened the box I noticed the stickers he stuck on there saying "Fragile" "Don't cut open box" (as not to damage the strop in there). Then there was the football of packaging material around the alum block and razor which used a mix of many sheets of bubble wrap and a couple feet of saran wrap. I think an egg would have made the 11,000 mile trip unscathed.

Thats not actually saran wrap because I questioned that. He actually vacuum packs them in some form of cryovac machine. I think you could drop it from the top of the Empire state and be fine!

He's the first place I check for shaving purchases. If he has it, I buy it there. Great guy to deal with.
