Problems from using OCM (oil cleansing)

I have been using the OCM for about 3 weeks now...3-4 times a week. The first two weeks were great...my skin was softer, and I was completely free of breakouts (where normally I would breakout once or twice a week.

Then all of a sudden, my face broke out like crazy, around my lower cheek area. Are there any reasons this could be happening? Am I not wiping off the oil correctly when I am done? I was told not to scrub, so I simply give it a wipe of a towel, and splash of cold water.

I really don't want to stop this method because my skin was feeling great, and was clearing up, but now I don't know what to do... I guess for now I will give it a break and return to using a face wash/toner/moisturizer...blah.

I also just started shaving with a DE/proraso cream/anthony preshave oil, so this may have something to due with my irritated skin but I doubt it.

Other than these two changes, my routine has stayed the same. Any ideas?

Try dropping the pre shave oil. It does very little if anything for the quality of shave and adds unwanted oil to your skin.

It's typical for acne treatments to work for a short period and then stop. I have no explanation for this, but it is common.

i do my OCM before I shower. This help me relax at the end of the day and the warm water in the shower aides in removing the excess oils and dirt.

OCM really helps my wife, although she uses it more as an occasional spot treatment. I have reasonably clear skin already, but the OCM caused me to break out a bit so I pretty much dropped it. If the other suggestions don't help, you could always try scaling back the treatment to a couple times a week and see if it helps. I also notice that if I get stressed out, I can break out.
