Prep Shortcut

In the past when I just splash some hot water onto my face and start shaving, it's never an easy go. There is a lot of pulling and roughness. Lately I have begun putting my HD under very hot water, letting it cool for a few seconds and applying it to my skin. The hot blade sears through the hairs quite effectively. It is important not to make it scalding hot, but a few degrees hotter than the water you are working with in the basin.

It just makes the blade glide a bit better on your skin, but YMMV as always.

I agree in part. I dont know that its hot enough to sear, but it is much more comfortable than a cold razor. It feels like how I might imagine a hot stone massage might feel.
