One of my students killed himself Friday morning, and another one is in critical condition after an attempt that night. It is a tough time for us, and I would like to request those of you who would to remember our little community in your prayers.

you absolutely have my prayers for your strength and courage to face the next week and be the leader for the other students; for the other students dealing with this very unfortunate issue; the families of the two students this is immediately about; the school administrators as they deal with this crisis; the law enforcement as they try to piece together the puzzle and help the families have closure; and that even in the midst of such tragedy, someone will take advantage of the grace and mercy God has in our lives, not just in the midst of bad or hard times, but also in the sweet and joyful times of our lives.

Update: I think the one in critical condition is going to be okay, but we have another student in the hospital from an attempt over the weekend. Not a good trend. We had counselors available at school today, and many of our kids talked to them. Thanks everyone again for your prayers and moral support.

It seems a sad trend amongst today's youth. It is a sad thing people do not think of their lives worth much now. That they consider them cheap is so wrong, surely every life is precious???
