It's hot in Montreal... So I made a few prawn tacos today... No pictures before you ask...

I did a prawn cerviche (prawns + salt + lime juice = cooked prawns from the acidity of the lime) with a tomatillo salsa (my local grocery store is stocking tomatillos... :001_cool:

A few homemade tortillas and guacamole and voilà!

Since nothing was hot, it's the perfect summer dish! If you can, make it, I guarantee you won't be disappointed! If you don't like prawns, try a bit of fish like talapia!

That's all I had to say! :biggrin1:

Sounds delightful!

I miss the hot/humid summers up in Ottawa/Montreal. It's a common misconception that Canada is always colder. Don't miss the mosquitos though!

I would gladly give up the hot/humid summers for the cold. I'll take dry heat, but I hate humid heat.

In any case, this sounds amazing, and I think I might try it out.

Ever try roasting your tomatillos before proceeding? Adds an extra dimension the same way using roasted tomatoes does.

Yes, roasted tomatillos for the salsa

4 tomatillos, 1/2 onion, pinch of salt, some fresh cilantro, 1 garlic and 1/2 a jalapenos. Cooked for maybe 10-15 mins so it reduce a bit.

Those French Canadian tacos sound as good as those here in Tejas.

Just need some jalapeno's to top it off.

For those who are concerned about sodium, just a quick marinade in lime juice and garlic before grilling makes a simple tasty taco also.
