Pradat Brun: thin grind?

I'm in the process of honing this resto job and noticed that this blade has the smallest bevel I have come across. Are these blades known for their thin grind? Is this in fact thin? I always hear Fillys and some German manufacturers mentioned when the subject comes up, but the lower half of this seems pretty narrow to me!

It's pictured with a tiny Gelle Freres wedge I'm also honing, so the difference is rather pronounced.

I'm unfamiliar with the brand, but if you put the bevel on your thumbnail and it easily flexes its a fine grind. I also struggle to see grind fineness with a round point razor.

I usually call that "stiff hollow" I like grinds such as that a lot. They are fairly common on Japanese blades.
Is that a French blade?

It sure is. I, too, am taking a liking to the French blades. Seems I enjoy a little mass to assist with the whisker takedown!

This is a thin grind. Tuned out to be too thin.

I used a belt sander to clean up a badly corroded blade, went too far and ended up with this. I had to reduce the width of the blade to get it stable enough to shave with.

Lesson learned!

Yup! Checked my recently restored Ator and it's pretty thin. Tough to photograph, in fact.
