Powder Talc vs Cornstarch

I've taken to applying a bit of powder after showering to help keep things nice and dry throughout the day. However, I developed an itching reaction to Clubman Talc. Could this be a clubman thing or a talc thing? I can use Johnson's Baby powder (cornstarch) with no problems.

Are there any good manly scented cornstarch powders out there?

Jessy, I have heard good things about Ammen's(sp?) powder. It is cornstarch based and lightly scented. Another trick some have used is to take cornstarch and add a big dose of a/s splash to it for scent. Then you have custom scented powder. If it is a scent allergy you have I would try the regular old cornstarch first. I wish I could find unscented talc in bulk. For some reason I cannot seem to get past the idea of patting a food/consumable like cornstarch all over my body. It just doesn't seem right to me. Cornstarch when wet can make a paste as you know for thickening stews or pies. I get this mental image of it gumming up in all the delicate places you apply it. Likely pure nonsensical thoughts but that's just me. I may yet give it a try. And if it works then you can bet a Eucris and Wild Fern 'powder' are in my future.

Cheers, Todd

Yeah, I'll second that about Ammens. It's cornstarch and has more Zinc Oxide than Gold Bond without the sack burning menthol. Highly recommended!

I've never had any sorts of gumming issues with Johnson's Baby Powder, which is primarily, if not entirely, corn starch, though I generally just do a light dusting of it.

Uh yeah, this is precisely what happened to me when I tried the old standby. No wonder a good number of men quit using powder as a matter of habit. Besides better soap and hygiene in general I can see some unsuspecting soul(me) applying this and having a less than comfortable time of it. In fact, burning is just how I would describe it. And yeah, in the wrong places too. Gold Bond is NOT on my list of things to use.
