ok, this is a do-over thread. i've decided to invest in a pair of C&J Hallam oxfords today - with any luck they should arrive next week. my next shoe purchase will definitely be a pair of Aldens, but I couldn't pass on the price for these bad boys.

with the exchange rate I think the C&J's come to around $360 shipped. i'm looking at spending $548 for a pair of shell cordovans but that'll have to wait.

No, they are Tankers from Context Clothing, I believe that it is an on going collaboration between the store and Alden. I love those boots. They fit like a glove.

They appear similar to the Indy, but the top stitching on the toe box is a bit different, as is the pull on strap. Very nice work, and I like the black. Prepare to have them last like forever.

Leather Soul (in Hawaii) does the Indy boot in cordovan leather. Yum.

Mine were pre-ordered in September. Context was really good about advising on size of the boots. I have to admit that I expected them to come with a heavier type of soles. They are really great for late fall but I do not think they would last very long in the snow.

Thank you for the compliment, and they are the darker brown pair (I guess that would be the second, as you said).

EDIT: They are nice shoes, though. For boat shoes ,most people wear Sperry's, so they allow you to stand out a bit.

As someone who's recently gotten into running, yet constantly plays disc golf and other random sports, I had heard about these for a while but finally took the plunge and grabbed a pair at a local outdoors store. They're simply incredible. Can't wait to wear them all summer!
