GO!

Both good pics, C Reed. I like the second one better, though. The half smile, the wild hair and the darkness around her eyes that look right at you... Very good shot.

My ex, and future wife, flying a kite in Frankenmuth, MI. Taken with a Canon G9. It was cold, but very clear, I had to add a little fill flash to get a good exposure.

Hey, Fugazi Dave: people like you make me want to throw away my camera. Cut it out!

But seriously, those photos are terrific. Are you a pro? I hope to someday have the time and patience to learn some of those techniques and to develop my abilities.

As for the rest of you in this thread: great work! Portraits are my weak spot, photographically. I can't even seem to get friends and family to "look natural" while I'm shooting. My hat is off to all of you.

Here's a few of mine from the past few months. Shot on Ilford PanF+ with a Hasselblad 500C/M and 80mm. Scanned and digitally post-produced.

This is Jasmine, she was a complete stranger, I hadn't met her until I asked to shoot her portrait.

I also had to shoot a self-portrait as part of the assignment, so here it is. Not as big a fan of this one, still thought I'd throw it up.

Jasmine is georgous. You could pass for Harpo Marx from the back! Great pics, and no disrespect intended, that's just how it looks to me. Larry
