Polsilver SI

Used a Polsilver SI blade for the first time tonight. Sharp and very smooth. Longevity is still to be seen but so far my favorite blade. So far I have tried Shark SC, Astra sp, Derby extra, Merkur (never again). Thanks to all for the recomendation. If the next few shaves go well I see a 100 pack in my future.

Polsilvers are one blade on my to-try list. I've heard so many people like them so I look forward to trying them sometime.

They are too difficult to get (not for me) and luxury (expensive). Stay by Astra SP's.

I dabbled with the SI's with a 10 blade order. I wish I would've bought 100. At this point I'm going to try and burn through my existing stash of other blades while laying them in 100 at a time. I'll start using them again when i have enough stocked up to last me through retirement. They're just. that. good. Some balk at the price, but .35 for a DE blade that lasts me 6-7 shaves or $1 each for an Atra or $3 each for a Mach III that both last for four shaves. I'll pay up.

Polsilver SI's are right there with 7 o'clock Blacks and Med Preps for me. I can't feel any difference between them and the original Iridium Supers. You should also try the Polsilver Super Stainless which is also a sweet blade.

In my short amount of time spent shaving with a safety razor the Polsilver SI seem to be my favorite so far. I have many more blades to try from my sampler packs, but if I was stuck using only these I wouldn't complain.

I haven't bought any of the Polsiver SI's, but I have some quantity of the NOS Super Iridiums and if the Polsiver version is really the the same blade as the NOS Super Iridium, I encourage lovers of that blade to try the Perma-sharp Super blade from bestshave.net for $.20 a blade.

For me the Perma-sharp has the forgivingness of the Super Iridium but is sharper and more efficient. At the <$.25 price point, I haven't found a blade I like better. At a sub <$.20 price point, the Personna Blue "Lab" is probably my choice.

I like the Polsilvers and I get about 5 good shaves out of a blade. I'm a head shaver too so I cover more real-estate.

+1 on Perma-sharp Supers as sharper and more efficient--if perhaps a tad less smooth--than SIs, as well as much cheaper (Bestshave.net; a few months ago I made a lifetime 1000-blade purchase of Perms on eBay at 17.4 cents per blade with no shipping charge, versus the current eBay prices of 19.5 or 19.9 cents per blade for the same quantity.) Blacks are excellent, too, but significantly more expensive than Perms. I look forward to trying Meds (and Labs).

Not a fan of the Perma Sharps, though I probably ought to revisit them. Working on a sample of the Polsilver SIs and find then every bit is as good as the SIs

Polsilver SI is currently my favorite blade overall if price is not an issue - smooth, sharp, and long-lasting
Astra SP is my all time best value blade - smooth, although not as sharp, and not as long-lasting as Polsilver SI

I think the Polsilver SI is a fine blade but I find them a bit rough on the bottom of my chin. This could also be because I've only tried them in fairly aggressive razors. I still find the blacks and silver blues to be smoother maybe because they're a little sharper? I also think the Astra's are the best value/budget blade. I do have a nice little stash of the Polsilvers but I think at this point if I'm not going to buy Astra's I would spend the little extra for the Blacks, Silver Blues or Feathers. Still haven't tried the med preps though.

Blacks are on my list to try. I am on my third shave with the Polsilver SI and still impressed. If I get a week out of them it will prove very economical. The Astra SP will be revisited at a later date but I found them much to harsh for my beginer technique.

I think all the blades mentioned are terrific, and I have used them all. However, I have not found anything better than the KAI. It is just a hair less sharp than a Feather (which I think is the sharpest blade I have used), but much smoother and longer lasting. It is more expensive, though, and harder to find.

Polsilvers are great blades and for me last longer than any other blade. I have used Astras and they are great but to me the closest to the Polsilvers are the Personna Lab Blue blades. Very close in smoothness and maybe a bit sharper but don't last as long as Polsilvers.
