Greetings from Mendel!

It's been awhile since my last poll. So here it goes. Reflecting upon your fountain pen collection or FPAD, which color category do most of your fountain pens fall into? I do understand that some may be marbleized in color, solid color, clear, etc. Be that as it may, what is the primary color category for most of your fountain pens? Please note: I am not talking about ink here.

I like them all, but I probably have more black pens than any other. Not necessarily my first choice, but most of my pens are vintage, and I think that might have been the most common, back in the day.

Call it mottled. Or marbled, tortoiseshell, swirled, whatever. The point is that solid colors aren't as interesting.

Now as a base color for this, I suppose I prefer green, but I think this still counts as other. Just to make things more wishy washy, if I do go with a solid color, it would usually be black. And color is not the most important thing anyway. Most of my pens aren't my favorite color because that's not why I chose them. :001_cool:

I really love the Pelikans with the blue swirl but I will reach for my black Sheaffer Imperiall or green celluloid Wasp over any others and a lot of that has to do with appearance.

My primary pens are all black, but that goes with my black coat, hat & shoes. It goes with everything I own so it can stand out on its own for what it is & not just because it's a bright color.

I have a variety of colors, but no reds. I like red, maybe a duofold is in my future. For now, I'll say blue.

I voted other, because I like them all. I do find, however, that I am in dire need of a Vacumatic.

I like a black pen, it always seemed classy and timeless to me. Like Ed I think my demonstrator is cool as well. I also like all the funky Lamy colours as well but there is just something about a black pen. Maybe it's limousine-like.

I voted "black" because I usually write with black ink. But I have some Lami Safari's in different colors (red and blue) which are loaded with the same color ink.

I never thought I had any favorites. I have pens of all colors and clear demonstraters. But when I count them up, Blue is dominant.

My favorite color is probably a marblized green, like the first round B&B LE. Green is probably also most common color of pen I have, but that is more from having a number of Esterbrooks in that color than any choice I made per se. I have a Waterman ball point and a Waterman roller ball in sort of marblized green, too.

My favorite FPs, aside from the B&B LE, happen to be black. Probably because that was the standard color they cam in more than anything having to do with choice. Black is nice!

My two favorite looking ones (before I traded them) were my Ahabs in Bumblebee and Arizona. The were really sharp looking pens.
