Polishing New Shoes

Howdy!

I finally got a new pair of shoes after searching for four months! I wear orthopedic inserts so finding a shoe is tough. I found these Dr. Comfort's Scott black in a 13M

They are 100% leather made in Texas. Can I use Graphite shoe polish (black with the blue lid) to polish these shoes? They are really soft. I bought these from an orthopedic office in Fletcher, NC. Wonderful people and great shoe!

I appreciate any help you can offer.

Best,

I'd consider a cream for softer leather. I tend to use cream on soft, or grain leather, and polish on burnished calf.

@Doc4

I meant Saphir shoe polish in black. Should I buy a cream instead? If so what cream do you recommend?

By the way, Happy Thanksgiving to all you wonderful folks here on B&B!

Jerry, Saphir is a wonderful brand ... use it. I'd suggest following NRK's preference for (Saphir black) cream rather than wax polish, but it's kind of "seven of one, almost half a dozen of the other", as it were. Use Saphir Renovateur first, to condition the leather, and then polish (with cream or wax) to your heart's content.
