Also, given Kevan's description of his brush as softer and less dense, I'm now very curious if there is any demonstrable difference in feel or performance between the regular Plissons and the Cade.

Not that I can tell. The density difference is slight...definitely not enough to affect the shave. It's not like they went from Simpson-like density to Edwin Jagger, for example. I couldn't tell.

Yeah, the picture on the website showed a pretty standard horn resin, so I was blown away when I opened the box. They even went as far as imitating the lighter-colored "circle" you see on the bottom of real horn handles (the center of the horn, I guess?)
