What's new

Please tell me someone here got the Shick Type F from eBay

I have been watching this listing since, literally, the first minute. I was hoping to snag it, but someone came along and bid $210+ before going to bed or something. I'm kind of disappointed, as I've been looking for a Schick Type F for some time, but I just hope someone here got it. This thing is a beauty!

I came in second on it. I knew it was rare but wasn't sure what it really was worth so I bid what I thought was appropriate and went to bed. Obviously someone else thought it was worth just a little bit more. Oh well.

Cheers,

Mark

Ok, I can finally speak up on this subject now that they've sold...

holy cow! I had no idea there was this sort of demand for the type F's.
After seeing that auction, I listed one in so-so shape, with a pretty warped case.

After just 6.5 hours, somebody took it at the BIN price of 175!
With that successfully sold, I listed another, better one, and that just sold today.

Yes, I ended it early to sell to the current high bidder at the current high bid price, which is totally within ebay policy if you're wondering. They even supply a link to do exactly that.

I've pretty much given up on getting a Darwin or a bottom dial fatboy, and it feels good to be on the other end of skyrocketing prices for a change. :)

I was watching those too, but they were both out of my range. Maybe next time. Anyway, that second one looked pristine in the pics. Very nice razor you parted with, and very kind of you to end early, and not watch the price climb on the guy who bid first.

Nice of you to end the auction but, why did you do it? Maybe im not thinking of all the reasons, im just wondering :biggrin1:

It's a fellow B&B'er, and I know he wanted one. There's no guarantee that anyone else would come along with a higher price, and I was happy with it, so I let it go. It was within a few dollars of what that other auction maxed out at, after all, so it can hardly be considered a huge favor.

In the US, between ebay and paypal, they take 12% for auctions, 15% for fixed price.
BST is a good place to sell razors back into the community at cost. This was a profit scenario.
