Please help me with my busted phone

The screen on my Atrix cracked and I can no longer see the screen (only some light coming through the cracks). Is there anyway I can do a data wipe or factory reset through my computer? I obviously cannot do it through the phone menu as I cannot see the screen. But what about if I plug it into my computer via USB? Generally, when you connect the Atrix to a computer you have three option appear up on the Atrix screen and only after selecting one and hitting "ok", does the device appear in "my computer" on my PC. Any ideas as to how I can wipe the phone clean as I cannot see the screen or get my computer to recognize it?

Are you trying to recover data, or just making sure nothing is on the phone before you get rid of it?

It might be a whole lot less work to do a physical destruction rather than trying to connect to the phone if it's just keeping data away from prying eyes.
Remove the battery and drop it in a chipper or work shredder.
Our IT department has a shredder at work that will eat hard drives etc.

This is what I will have to do if I cannot figure out how to wipe it. There is a phone repair place by me that buys broken phones for parts (I guess they remove things like the camera and whatever else is still working). I was going to sell it to them, but don't know if that is a great idea if any of my info is still in the phone.

Destroying the phone is kind of wasteful, all those components can be re-used or re-cycled.

If you plug the phone into your computer, can you just press the screen where the options would be if it were working?
