What's new

Please help me Identify this Unmarked Gillette.

I paid about $20 for this set. The razor isn't marked other than Gillette. Please tell me what you can about it. I'm thinking the open comb means it's pretty old??

Sweet, I know nothing about these other than they are cool. I felt like it had to be an ok deal so I bought it. I'm trying to figure out which one I want to put in a shadow box to hang in my bathroom. I'm thinking a razor set, brush, and a small collection of vintage blade boxes...

Oh, cool... Thanks so much guys!!!

That's a crime! That NEW is meant to be shaved with! Try it, you just might find that you love it.

I have a ball end LC NEW and it's one of my favorite razors. Sure, mine has a crack in the handle and the plating is bad, but its a great razor.

The NEW is many peoples introduction into OC shaving.

I never said that I wouldn't try it... :001_cool: I just want to display it somewhere I can enjoy it.

That is an early production NEW razor. Notice how the base plate does not refer to a "reissue" patent number. If the handle is correct, it should indicate "patents pending" on the band between the knurling and the ball end. This razor would have been produced before the Probak lawsuit and the "merger" between Gillette and Auto-Strop.
