Please help me ID this Gillette Razor

Hello,

I bought a razor today at an antique store with a mug and razor holder. It is an old Gillette, and i cant find a serial number or letter code on the razor. I searched Country Joes Collectibles ID section with no luck. It isnt a TTO but the old style screw apart. (dont know what it is called)

Here is a pic. Please help me out. I am sorry if i am missing something on this site to help me ID it, but i cant find anything. Thanks in advance for any help. Im adding a pic of my current lathering bowl, a rummage sale find and i love it!

Thanks for all the replies!! The only way i see that it isnt a 38-41 like posted is that on the underneath side of the top piece the bars are not all the way from the shaft looking thing coming out of it. The dont go all the way to that thing. In the link posted above by Capaldo (thank you sir) the bars there go all the way to the shaft thing.

The only writing under the head is: Gillette logo, Made in USA, Reg US, Pat Off. Maybe is is older than 38-41? Anyway i appreciate the help in finding out what it is.

Are these well liked razors? I just cleaned it up, but i havent shaved with it yet.

JDobbs- I got the Barber Shop Bowl from the same Antique store. They arent anything special though, had a Made in Japan sticker on the bottom. I thought they were more "authentic".

It could be anywhere from 1938 to around 1945. The triangular slots were used through most, if not all, of WWII. I think Achim was able to identify the Tech linked above to 1938-1941 based upon the set, not the razor itself. Some Techs can be dated based upon advertising for the specific sets. Without the package, though, dating of early Techs is not very precise.

It's a great razor. I have a bunch of different Gillettes, and my fat handle teach remains the goto razor. Enjoy!

Thanks to everyone who helped me out. I shaved with it today, and i liked it pretty well. It seems im not able to get a close shave underneath my chin, and jawline. I dont know what it is, i guess improper angle. That is the only place in not BBS.

That's an interesting aspect about Tech's - they forgive bad technique in that they won't hurt you, but they require good technique in the tough areas to get a close shave. I think angle and direction are key.
