Plating a new razor

Has anyone had a new zamak razor plated in something strong like rhodium? Sounds silly, but I have a razor that I want to use for many years and not have to worry if they stop making them. I want it to last. It doesn't need to be revamped, per se. Just re-plated. Is this possible? Has anyone done it? Is there a place you would recommend? TIA.

Due to the cost of rhodium, I would advise getting one or two back-ups of the razor instead of having one replated. That is if it is still in production. Rhodium is quite expensive these days. If your razor is out of production, you can place a WTB ad in our BST.

If you take care of it a quality Zamak razor can last for many years, perhaps decades.

Why don’t you purchase a back-up razor, or two? Then you should be well set.

Many replaters will not accept zamak as the quality and integrity of the replating cannot be guaranteed.
