What's new

Plan on trying something different tonight!

Hey gents!! Just thought I would share my idea for later tonight. If anyone has tried this let me know how it worked out for you.

Since I have to be back into work tomorrow morning at 0700(which means i usually get up at 0515 to catch a shave) I plan on shaving tonight and showering in the morning. I havent shaved without showering first in a long time so im interested to see what happens. I plan on washing my face with some Noxzema with warm water, then applying more Noxezema to the face and apply a hot towel for approx. 1 minute. Then ill face lather and probably end up doing a 2 pass shave(WTG then XTG). Keep in mind that I usually cold water shave because it seems to cut down on the irritation. I do like to enjoy a warm water shave every now and again. Ive also been DE shaving for about a year now so I dont consider myself a noob! LOL. Well wish me luck gents!! Enjoy your shaves!!

Thought about doing this myself last night (well, late last night/early this morning i.e. around half past midnight). It was a very long, tough day, and I was facing into about 4 hours sleep before another. I think even with my heavy beard growth I would be been SAS or better for the morning after a shave with my my R41. Also I thought it would be a good way to de-stress before hitting the sack.

Why I didn't in the end was that I decided to save my shave for the early start in the morning to get me up and about in the right mood. I find the process very therapeutic and some of my better ideas/problem solving occur to me while I shave. Also I was that knackered that I figured I would not need the help to conk out (which proved correct). When I dragged myself out of the sack, a slow, close and comfortable shave using Mikes Natural Orange, Cedarwood & Black Pepper was, frankly, the perfect start to the day (from an aromatherapeutic point of view, what a perfect soap for the early morning).

Anyway, enjoy your shave !

I usually shave in the late afternoon because it gives me at least a half an hour to really enjoy the shave (one of the benefits of working from home). Most times I jump in a hot shower for a few minutes to soften the stubble. But sometimes, I use either Proraso Pre/Post or Noxzema with a hot towel. Works really well for me.

By now you must have tried it. Do post your results and I hope you had a good shave.

I have always saved before showering. I've tried showering first as part of the preshave routine but I'm finding I prefer to use a hot towel if I want to prep then shower after the shave, just set in my ways i guess ;-)
