Plain tallow-based shave puck?

I am looking for a plain tallow-based shave puck, preferably unscented. Any suggestions? Something along the lines of the old Valobra shave pucks. It seems the shaving world is abandoning tallow based soaps. This is a pity because there is nothing finer than a traditional tallow based shave soap.
Note to artisan soap makers: if you want to make a small fortune, craft a basic tallow based soap puck!

Ariana & Evans Unmasked comes to mind. Definitely one of the best lines.
Thanks. Havent tried this soap, looks interesting. I see it comes in a tub, so it doesnt come in a puck. Looking for a puck. The search continues.

For those interested Bartigan and Stark makes a tallow based unscented soap called Nil in a tub that is really outstanding. If they made that soap in puck form I would be all over it.

At this point it is rather difficult to say what is the biggest regret. The fact that you bought only two pucks or that you didn't buy ten.
Only time will tell.
Ha.
Funny...the same thought crossed my mind. If when they arrive they turn out to be top quality then I will place another order before they are sold out and or worse, before they make it to the "Cyril R. Salter tallow puck discontinued" product list.

Sounds like a plan. Please drop by and tell us what you think when you had a chance to shave with it.

Oh, forgot to say, this soap is not top quality in my books. At this time though, it is of great value. If you expect Tabac/MWF quality, you will be disappointed. In my opinion.

Yes, I will drop by and post a review after I've had a chance to shave with it. I have no expectations regarding the quality of the product. I am just pleased to find a tallow based shave puck that hasn't been discontinued, and is in stock, and that I can evaluate. I fear the number of tallow-based shave pucks in the marketplace are limited, so it is worth a try. If the Cyril R. Salter tallow puck turns out to be a loser for shaving, then I just purchased two shower soaps!

It's not a bad soap at all. Punches at it's price point.

simply DR Harris lavender or almond, both are mildly scented.

Search the net for Böker (yes, the Solingen based knife maker) -- "... BökerTallowate Tobacco Rasierseife ..." -- excellent hard tallow based puck of shaving soap, comes in a nice metal can. It is tobacco scented though, I'm not aware that they do an unscented version.

Another very nice German made hard puck is Klar -- they do different scents, as far as I recall an unscented version too, but I believe their soaps are all plant based (no tallow). The Klar hard pucks I have in mind are triple milled, perform excellent. Your best bet here may be Klar's own website.

I don't think I am allowed to link directly to any of these products from a B&B post, which is why I don't, but you should be able to easily google your way to both soaps. Get back if you can't find them.
