Places in Baltimore

Im heading out for a business trip at end of month Just outside of Balitmore. I thought I read about some apothecary/shaving supply type placs there but cannot find that info. So solicit my fellow B&B members for info is what Im doing.

Almightys,

Wear a flak vest!
Kidding, Baltimore has come around the past 20 years. Especially the waterfront area. The new Camden yard (10-13 years old) is great for a ball game.
The Aquarium is a great site.
There are no shaving places I know of.
There is one great tailor, not worth going to.
Clothing, Baltimore is not the place, with DC near.
Crab at Baltimore, you can not go wrong. Camden, is can catch a game. Great food there, especially BBQ made by Boog Powell!!
I do recommend, if there more than a few days. Go to USNA at Annapolis. About 30 minute drive on 50East.
Annapolis waterfront, is a great place.Middletons there is wear J Adams and George Washington drank. GREAT oyster bar, crab.
If able to travel, recommend going 50 east to the eastern shore. Bout 20 minute drive.
There, is the greatest crab place to go to called Harris crab house. A unique experience.
Nothing to talk about regarding shaving. Nor clothin per say. Typical stuff.
If able to travel, the USNA is a unique place, very nice place to see. If able to.
I have been there a lot in my life, few friends went there. I did my grad work at Hopkins, so know Baltimore very well.
Batimore, years ago was a shock. The worst part of it is in the area of the medical school etc.
You will probably be at the waterfront.
It is a nice place, have enjoyed it for a conference my self. And take advantage of Camden/Eating ( CRAB), Naval academy, and the eastern shore of Md. Which again, a 25-30 minute drive on 50 East.

Enjoy the place.

Nice day my friend

Jimmy

My friend, memory coming back.

That area is known for CRAB, and the way it is made, and prepared, and served.
Rather than go to the Eastern shore to Harris, another 15-20 minute drive, so about 45 minute drive.
There is a place, that is very well now, and has been of the best eats every now and then.
Cantlers Restaurant, on the Severn River, the next exit after the USNA in Annapolis.
It is a winding road down to the river, the crab, or fish is just unreal.
Again, you can not go wrong with the waterfront in Baltimore!!

OK enjoy

Nice day
Jimmy

About the closest is going to be about 2.5 hours south in Charlottesville, VA http://wiki.badgerandblade.com/USA_Virginia

They do not stock a lot of items in the small shop but their warehouse is close by and can get anything they sell online in the store in 1 day. Not too helpful for you I am afraid

Crabtree and Evelyn is closer but none in Baltimore

The Quinntessential Gentleman.

I had a straight razor shave there probably 2 years ago from Frank, one of about 10 barbers they have in house there.

They carry a good bit of the basics to include Straights, DE's, Blades, Badger brushes, Glycerin soaps such as Conk, Art of Shaving, Truefitt and Hill, Proraso, etc.

Here's a link to all the products that they carry. I remember seeing pretty much all of these on the shelves and ready to go.

Get a roommate and live at Symphony Center Apts - free parking, nice building, close to Charles Street for places to eat and drink. You can pay less than $1000 if you split the rent with a roommate for their 2 bedrooms.

....maybe I'm missing the relevance of an apartment complex.

Yes, Last few times I went to Baltimore- I did the Annapolis thing. Was thinking of trying to catch a game and have excuse to be around Camden Yard area. Our office is in Elkridge and have been to Gunnings for crab cakes. I really liked it but I have had people say other places are better albeit with no reccomendation of such place LOL

Hahahaha I said the same thing when I read all these responses!

The poor guy wanted to know where he might find an Apothocary / Shaving supplies and he's getting solicited for a new apartment and seafood LOL

Gentlemen,

Over the past 30 plus years have seen Baltimore evolve into a pleasant trip or conference.
For your information, maybe many do not recall.
Joe Banks started in Baltimore. ( I am not a fan of Joe Banks) Fair mens clothing.
I think regarding clothing, Baltimore is hit or miss.
Not a fashion haven.
You have done the Annapolis thing, great.
Camden been there a bit, nice ball park. And again, recommedn Boog Powells BBQ a former great has food vendore there.
Aquarium unique there.
Also, did you see John Paul Jones burial at USNA.

BTW, in Bancroft Hall at USNA, there is a below campus with shops, and stores, and barber shops for your use, and for the midshipmen.

Have nice trip,

Nice day
Jimmy

.

Enjoy

Nice day
Jimmy
